Invite a neighbor and join us for an afternoon of prayer and musical celebration.
The service of choral evensong has a history of nearly 500 years, and is of the great liturgies of the Anglican tradition. Close your weekend with this unique opportunity to unplug, reconnect, and be spiritually fed. No need to fly across the Atlantic!
Organist/choirmaster Ted Davis will lead the St. Bartholomew Choir in the service, which will feature evening canticles by contemporary British composer Sarah MacDonald, evening prayers and responses by Renaissance composer Richard Ayleward, and other anthems and hymns.
Following Evensong (about 5:15 pm), we resume our ongoing celebration our spectacular Casavant-Storey organ completed in 2007. While you may hear it on Sunday mornings, you might be surprised by the instrument’s full potential when given the opportunity to “let loose” a little more! Guest organist Sophie Yeri-Jang So returns to St. Bartholomew’s to share her mastery on a delightful instrument.
Admission is free; donations gratefully accepted.
