Brahms Requiem

November 6, 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 6:15 pm

presented by the St. Bartholomew Choir and friends

with chamber orchestra

and guest soloists Mira Huang, soprano, and Fitzgerald St. Louis, baritone

After a 3-year hiatus, Music at St. Bartholomew’s is once again presenting bi-annual choral events with chamber orchestra. Joined by singers from the community, the St. Bartholomew Choir and friends will perform Brahms’ monumental Ein deutsches Requiem (A German Requiem). Also joining in the performance will be two rising star guest soloists.

Johannes Brahms composed this work between 1865 and 1868. The death of his mother in early 1865 is widely believed to have been the primary inspiration. Throughout the more than 150 years since, Brahms’ German Requiem has maintained a prominent place among major choral works.

No admission will be charged for the concert. Events like this depend on the generosity of supporters from the parish and community.
